MG Crossbone Gundam (Box Preview)

 - Box Preview -

Hey guys, wassup?
I know that this is right in the middle of my W.I.P for the RG Rx-78-2 but i just haven't had the time to topcoat it yet. I will probably do it tomorrow and post it up the progress very soon after.
Anyway, let's get back to Crossbone.

The boxart looks pretty nice, its got a purple tint it much like the older ver. Katoki kits
It gives it a retro feel, I actually like it alot (wasn't too fond of it to begin with).

The bottom face of the box. It looks really nice.

This side of the box lists the weapons and specifications of the mobile suit itself. Stands at 15.9m so its a pretty small Gundam compared to the average 1/100 scale Gundam. Especially when compared to the Unicorn Gundam.

This is the top face of the box, looks pretty much identical to the bottom face. The only difference is that the pricing number in yen isn't on here like it is on the other side.
My favorite side of the box. I just reckon it looks mad, showcasing the gimmicks the Crossbone has. The painting on the kit looks really nice, wish I had the skills to paint this good.
The pricing is also on this side, just like every other kit.

The rear of the box looks so sick. It shows the other Mg ver. Ka kits released before it. It makes me really want to get the Rx-78-2 ver. Ka. Its actually my favorite version of the Rx-78-2. A link down below to Gunpla Fixation's amazing build.

A comparison of some popular kits you may gave lying around. The boxes go from smallest to largest.

The Crossbone has the exact same box dimensions as the Wing EW.... and a comparison to the trusty airbrush

I'll post up an unboxing of it soon. I know it's right in the middle of the RG Rx-78-2 build but like I said, I just haven't had the time to topcoat it and panel line but will be able to do some work on it tomorrow. Iv'e just had alot of assignments and SACS for school lately but it's clearing up now. I'll most likely post up the unboxing after I finish building the RG but I might post it up after the second W.I.P. Depends on how patient I can be haha

Gunpla Fixation's build of the Rx-78-2 ver. Ka:
The best build of it iv'e seen to date

W.I.P 1 - RG Rx-78-2

 - W.I.P 1 (Update)-

RG Rx-78-2

As usual, the RG gundams have amazing boxart

This will be my second attempt at painting a model kit.
Just two days ago, I finished completely painting the Rx-78-2. Some of the colors didn't turn out as well as I had hoped they would, but meh... doesn't look too bad.

 Paint

I found that the Vallejo Air paints didn't spray as well as I would have liked them to. Maybe just need some more practice with them. On the other hand, the Tamiya Acrylic paints sprayed on like magic.

The paints are:
Tamiya Acrylics - J.A Grey, Titanium Gold, Gun Metal, Medium Grey, Flat White, Black
Vallejo Air - Blue, Scarlet Red & Yellow

The blue turned out darker than I thought it would turn out and unfortunately, the gold wasn't as pronounced as i was hoping it would be. But as I said, meh. I've always got a lesson to work on for the next kit.
Another thing i need to work on is mixing up the right colors in their respective ratio. I just find that the light grey was too pronounced and that the contrast between the white and grey wasn't as subtle as I thought it would turn out.

Weapons

The shield turned out okay, just wish lighter red turned out less like purple and more like red

I'm actually pretty pleased with how the beam rifle and the hyper bazooka turned out

Added a little bit of variation on the beam saber handle. Inspired by the MG 3.0

                     Core Fighter

 The painted core fighter.
At the start I wasn't really a fan but it's kinda growing on me

                        Next Step

Allow me to walk you to the next step

Next thing to do is topcoat it with a layer of gloss coat....

 panel line....

and put on the decals.
Well actually, i'm going to use the water slide decals but they haven't arrived yet
