- Life Update -
#1
Hey guys, I know it's been a long time and all. Every time I get on here, I always start off very enthused and keen to post updates as often as possible, but every time I complete and publish one or two posts, life gets in the way. So I decided to update you guys on what's going on with me at the moment and what I've been planning for the future of this blog. So let's get started.
First of all, I have finished the MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka. and will be posting a review of him sometime in the future - so don't worry it will happen. There are three main reasons I've been putting it off. They are pretty important or something very big for me at least. They are:
- For a while now, I've been wanting to make Youtube videos. I was thinking of doing something very similar to Vegeta8259 (Henry) on Youtube. His work is great and lots of people seem to really like his channel and content (me included). So I was inspired by him to make a channel for myself and post reviews, W.I.P and possibly unboxing? I may also eventually do some other non-modelling updates or something along those lines along the way.
- Exams are very soon for me (first one in 4 days and will last for two week). I haven't really had the time to do much work on any of my kits and because they are approaching so fast, I haven't been able to give myself enough time to start to build a new kit (even a HG). Apart from this time that I'm taking to write this up, I haven't had the opportunity to relax and wind down. Progress will start back up after exams though so look out for that, I will keep busy!
- Views on this blog have been very slow - just under 2000 total views on the blog ( a HUGE THANK YOU though). Seeing that some days, I only have a total of 1 view or some days in a row, not even a single view. So that kind of kills the enthusiasm a little bit.
- One of the biggest and most FRUSTRATING reason for the absence of any produce is my phone. A pretty long story so I'll just make a quick summary of the events: My note 3's earpiece stopped working to due a hardware fault. I sent it back to KOGAN for repairs under warranty. During the inspection, the technician cracked my screen. They are now blaming me for the fault and have void my warranty due to their mishandling. They are now trying to charge me $38 to have it sent back to me (damaged and unrepaired. If you'd like to hear the full story, just check out my next post as I may as well tell you all the events - it'll make for a very interesting read and may just serve as the perfect reminder to stay clear from KOGAN at all costs and better to trust your local brick and mortar store.
What does this have to do with my absence? Well, the Note 3 was what I was using to film some content for future videos because it shoots in 1080P and even better for more futureproofness (not really a word but oh well), it can shoot in 4K video! Awesome, awesome stuff but now I cant do that and can't really film with anything that will provide great quality for you guys (making exception to the DSLR we have at home - just a little more inconvenient and much larger to handle with video). So I guess it may have to wait a little longer or perhaps much longer. If it takes much longer, then I'll just use the DSLR. In the mean time, I'll just edit the videos and post them up when ready.
So some more updates:
YOUTUBE
With regard to Youtube, like stated above, I've been wanting to make videos for a while now. Something that may strike your interest is content that involves modding of gunpla and other plastic model kits.
I've been really wanting to start doing modding to gunpla for a long time as I always look at custom work before I buy a kit. For me, modding is what makes a kit really shine, something that will allow you to add a little something of yourself onto a half completed canvas. Of course, I'm not knocking anyone who just builds kits or someone who just panel lines and topcoats. Those are all preferences and if you are happy with that, then by all means continue to do so. Modding is just something very appealing to me and something that I really want to start to get into. Granted a have scribed panel lines before onto kits but not very many that would make much of a difference to a completed kit. So I will definitely create videos for you guys with modding involved. I'll also have showcasing of completed kits to accompany reviews, tutorials, unboxings, package arrivals and maybe even some life updates on video.
Please let me know if you'd be interested at all if I were to create Youtube videos.
FUTURE OF THIS BLOG
Well I don't really have many views considering I've had this blog up for maybe a year now. I don't even know if anyone bothers to check back on here. I still wont give it up anytime soon but I will be focusing more on creating videos than updating content on here but that doesn't mean that the blog will be worthless. I will still showcase all my completed kits and will still write up reviews of kits. It may just be a little delayed or perhaps a little early when compared to the uploading of my videos. But they will still be there so don't worry.
There are some things reviews or W.I.P that need to be completed before I'm done with them so those will be up soon also. Namely the MG Nu Gundam Ver Ka. build, the Procon Boy FWA review and the update towards the Bandai moulding error
Well to wrap it all up here's a summary if you would rather see the what content is here before you read the whole post.
- Plan to make Youtube videos for your enjoyment
- Plan to start modding and have a kit in mind already
- Exams for me soon
- KOGAN's warranty scandal
- Full story of KOGANS's warranty issue in the next post
- Update on MG NU Ver. Ka.
- Saddening tale of poor views :'(
